a little common courtesy is not alot to ask of people.

Post by Titan83 »

I'll get right to the point, because certain people will probably have this post deleted in order to protect their ego's. So I won't go on too much.

I'm tired of coming on here and seeing comment after comment from negative people. Usually, the same, gloomy, pessimistic, patronising always disatisfied people. And the worst bit about it? People just sit back and take it! Well I can tell you, there are a few of us who are not coming here as much simply because we're getting on better with people elsewhere! We're sharing and contributing in other ways, because of the extreme levels of negativity and sarcasm on these forums! (and not the 'banter' kind either)

I love Xylot. Before I came here, i'd never been anywhere else. I was a complete theme virgin as far as posting and contributing goes. And I will never leave for another Website. I just hate coming here, making contributions ect. and then when something is inperfect, I don't get a "It's not great, but thanks anyway!".. It's more like a.. "It's awful. Why post this?"

Some of the admins are just as bad. I just don't think a little common courtesy is much to ask of anybody! It's all well and good having forum rules. But have we ever abided by them? They probably have never said anything about being friendly and possitive and getting on with everybody as a community, and I think they should. I think the admins should make more of an effort to enforce this.

I also think that Terran (whenever you're available) should maybe review this. Because it sucks that people from other forums are coming here and treating your Xylot originals and faithfuls like garbage.

I thought we were a community?

Aren't you the same Titan83 that's been around the internet for years from Antdogs, FuzionX/Nexus etc. and had your stuff posted up on various websites, or is that somebody else with the same name?

It's a forum mate, and I thought people were entitled to voice their opinion on anything they do like, don't like and maybe how things could be done better (eg ripping a theme or tron). I can't see how there is anything wrong in doing such a thing as long as they aren't disrespecting you.

I can't say that I'm affected by what people say a great deal, and stop posting because of it. This
place is a community, which is why I keep posting what I can. If people stopped posting because of every little tiny comment made, then there would be nothing left of the place.

Also, I believe people can come on here from wherever they wish as long as they are here to contribute, and not simply to troll around or cause trouble.

I'm Titan83 aka Titantron&Customs.. i've not been anywhere else besides Xylot. It was Xylot that inspired me to become a collector/contributor, and i've only ever contributed here.. and that's how it's likley to stay. I actually applied to be an admin here 4 years ago, but I was turned down and the job was given to someone from Antdogs.
Also, I believe people can come on here from wherever they wish as long as they are here to contribute, and not simply to troll around or cause trouble.
Which is about 50% of the people who come on here then..

I don't believe the amount to be that high quite frankly. It is extremely rare for people to come on here to simply cause trouble, or disrespect people. I personally don't think that this place should be closed for the sake of a couple of people.
Plus, the next person that comes in, could be the one to have a shit load of stuff, and is actually willing to share. They don't need to see topics like this ruining what is happening in the contributions section.
Maybe you're just unable to take constructive/negative opinions from anyone all that well? It's probably where you need to have a thick skin, toughen up a little bit.

And TEOL, it's not that you've been "slagged off", it's just that people don't take you seriously at all, and for good reason. You've been told hundreds of times what to do to fix that up, so why don't you? We are trying to help you out, not put you down, so if you don't work on it, you won't be taken seriously in the future.

Xylot, Antdogs, is there really a difference? I mean, both are just forums with pros and cons, with one thing in common: that we're all here because we're wrestling music collectors.

Since i got promoted, i tried my best to take care of business where needed, but ultimately, it's all just for fun. If there's an issue that needs to be taken care of, sure, i can do that. But what i don't want and won't do on here, is deal with this stuff like it's a live-or-die matter. I'm sick and tired of people who treat this hobby like their life depends on it.

That's just it. The way people have spoken to one another on here in the past reflect's how people would speak to one another in a real life working environment. The 'Us and Them' situation. The whole, 'It's not good enough' attitude that really should be exempt from a place like this because yeah, it is a hobby.

In no way do I treat this hobby like a life or death scenario. I'm a keen collector, but that's where the line has been drawn for me! Yeah, sometimes I do get a bit ticked off with negative people and yeah, there's banter, but then it's taken too far and you do find alot of unnecessary comments. But I guess that's just me. In the real world I'm a Gym Instructor, and I'm just not used to alot of negativity!

On this occasion however, I just must have been having a bad day, because I soon cooled off. And I'm sorry if I bugged anybody!

I'd be very careful if I where you, last time I said something like this I got banned. I know what you mean though, I'm not going to name any names but I believe one of the guys has already posted in this topic.

I hate you simply because of you being a dick in the past with threatening people and asking for their phone numbers. For that, you should never have been allowed back on the forum. In life, it's something you would have gone to jail for. Also, you're pretty much in the same boat as TEOL to me, so if you fix those problems up as well, you'll be taken more seriously.
