[GUIDE] Ripping Showdown: Legends of Wrestling themes
Before I start, I want to thank Shaun (snovak1223) whose help made this all possible. It was Shaun's original rip of the game that got me interested in attempting to rip the themes myself, and he was able to dig up some information from when he originally did his rip that made things a lot easier for me. I also partially used his rip to verify the identity of some of the tracks. Thanks again!
You're going to need a program called QuickBMS and a specific BMS file that the program uses to extract the files from the disc, as well as MFAudio to convert the files to WAV. I have also included a handy list of all of the values you will need for each file.
QuickBMS: http://aluigi.altervista.org/papers/quickbms.zip
BMS file: http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/legend ... ling_2.bms
MFAudio: https://www.zophar.net/download_file/3180
Once you have your "Showdown: Legends of Wrestling" disc in your computer, run QuickBMS. It will first ask you to find and select the BMS file you downloaded earlier. Then it asks you to select the file/archive you want to extract from. Navigate to the disc's file structure, go to the AUDIO folder, then the ENTRANCE folder, and select the SOUNDS.ADB file. Finally, select the folder where you want the files to be extracted and let the program run its course. It will extract 87 AAA files (themes, except for one file of crowd noise) and over 3000 VAG files (voice clips). If you're just after the themes like I was, all the VAG files can be safely deleted.
Using MFAudio, you need to open each AAA file, change the frequency, offset, and interleave for each one, then select your output, name it, and extract. The frequency and offset is the same for every file, but you do have to enter it every time you load a new file.
And that's it. After all that, you should have the themes extracted and converted to WAV. What you do with them from there is up to you.
PLEASE NOTE: I no longer own the game, so it is unlikely that I will be able to help any further than what is already here.

Could you post the WAV of George Steel's Theme "Playful"?

Thanks for the excellent guide. I now have my own rips. Do you plan on doing the same for legends of wrestling 2?

I only have Showdown, so unless I get the other games at some point, probably not. Sorry. The Chosen One wrote: ↑September 19th, 2018, 5:20 am Thanks for the excellent guide. I now have my own rips. Do you plan on doing the same for legends of wrestling 2?

Hey I have the other game, and the guide kinda works. Just want to know how do you work out the Interleave?

Re: [GUIDE] Ripping Showdown: Legends of Wrestling themes
I had to do it by good ol' trial and error.
As you can probably tell from the list, the interleaves all end in 0, and range from 0-200, including A0-F0 and 1A0-1F0. You'll know when you've hit the right interleave as the audio will be clear, not all crackly and static-y.
Please let us know how it goes for that game. As I said earlier, I only have Showdown and I'm not entirely sure how similar the process is, or the numbers are, for both games (i.e. if the base frequency and offset are the same, and if the interleaves are in the same range).

Things are going slowly, im not sure what im doing wrong. On the file 1489 i have tried all combinations but not hit one where its not crackly.
I have uploaded all the .AAA files if you want them, and maybe give me a hand? or pass them onto snovak1223 see if he would like them.

Re: [GUIDE] Ripping Showdown: Legends of Wrestling themes
This game may have interleaves that go higher than 200. It just seems like that was the max for Showdown.
I'm downloading the LoW 2 files now, and I'll see what I can do. I don't have a lot of spare time lately due to a new job, but I'll at least try to figure out the one you're having troubles with.
Edit: I did a little testing, and it seems the base frequency is different for Legends of Wrestling 2 compared to Showdown. The frequency should be 48000, but the offset is still 68. The first 3 files I tested (1498, 1499, 1500) all seem to have an interleave of 40. I don't have time to test them all right now, but maybe the interleave is the same for all of them? That would make things a heck of a lot easier.

I read that, too, but I never had the time or interest to try and learn it.
