I'm guessing it's similar to how Rick Martel was originally planned to be in 2K17 but didn't make the cut, yet "Model" was still listed in that game's music credits. They (Almas, Dudleys, etc.) may have originally been planned for the 2K18 roster but the credits were never updated when the decision was made not to include them.
