Weird theme related rumors? (i.e. 99% disproven)
What are some weird theme related rumors that have made the rounds over the years and are almost certainly untrue?
A rumor I remember from over a decade ago is that the Filthy Animals used Mad One's song "Up In The Club" in WCW. I've never seen any evidence showing that it was ever used or even has anything to do with WCW at all, yet the rumor persists.
Also when I was a kid I was convinced most of the themes with lyrics were actually sung by the wrestlers, e.g. Billy Gunn sang the Mr. Ass theme, X-pac sung his theme, etc. I guess a few of them may have been but I'm sure most weren't.
I guess the trouble with most theme rumors is it's very difficult to disprove them with 100% certainty. Even someone who specifically sets out to watch every appearance of someone will likely miss some.

Shannon Moore singing "I'll Do Anything" is one that unfortunately sticks out in my mind like a sore thumb.

Matthew McCloskey from Rev Theory singing "End Of Days" V5. I have no idea where people got this idea from.

People still think that shitty "Sexy Boy" cover from WWF The Music Vol. 2 was performed by Vince.

As a kid, I was always mishearing lyrics in certain themes. For example.. "I've got the moves, and hair removal" in HBK's theme which turned out to be "I've got the moves, that really move'em". Not sure why I was so convinced, as it makes absolutely zero sense
Never the less, this became a popular misconception in my school lol

WWE ANTHOLOGY II
(hey look...we even have a tracklisting) lol

I was exactly the same as you, haha!theassassin wrote: Also when I was a kid I was convinced most of the themes with lyrics were actually sung by the wrestlers, e.g. Billy Gunn sang the Mr. Ass theme, X-pac sung his theme, etc. I guess a few of them may have been but I'm sure most weren't.
A rumor that I remember is that DMX did the vocals for Billy Kidman's 5'th WWE theme.
I'll admit that it does sound like him.

Don't know if anyone here knows the band Danzig, but I had heard back in the late 90s, early 2000's that they were gonna do a song for Undertaker. Of course, with Danzig being my favorite band, I was excited for them to do a wrestling theme. But obviously, it never happened. If it's true or not, I have no idea.
Takin' out the trash, trailer park style!!

This was actually stated on their corporate website and Johnston even mentioned it during an interview. The track listing on the other hand is purely fan made.BeastNation wrote:The biggest rumor I ever saw was back in late 2003:

I know but I saw many people (especially on Youtube) who call him Matt White instead of Watt White.PaddyDragon23 wrote:That would be Watt White.Alexandre wrote:You forgot he sings "Radio" for Zack Ryder lol.PaddyDragon23 wrote:Matt White did a Song called "Smoking Mirrors" for Cody Rhodes.

WWF Piledriver Album being released on CD. This has never been released on CD, those floating around are fan made CD-R's printed. They go for stupid money for a fake CD.
Another would be the so called "WWF/E Turnbuckle Trax" that was rumoured to come out.

Before we got Voices: WWE - The Music, Vol. 9 we once again had a rumored WWE: Anthology 2 Tracklist pop-up.

I think I remember that Turnbuckle Trax thing. I actually own that Piledriver one for completests sake. The spine looks like a cassette tapes stretched.Craig-UK wrote:WWF Piledriver Album being released on CD. This has never been released on CD, those floating around are fan made CD-R's printed. Some interesting ones here! Just out of curiousity, anyone got some of the "rumored" tracklists for Anthology 2 (even if we know they're fake)?
On a side note I'd love another "Anthology" style release (since it's unlikely they'll ever do an all-classic-themes release) but only if they actually put plenty of UNRELEASED classic themes on there. If they're just gonna re-release a bunch of stuff from the older CDs that would be a giant disappointment and waste of time. I really have no interest in modern themes (i.e. less than 10 years old) but that's all we ever get nowadays.
