So Is There No Hope For Unreleased Themes?

Post by thebib62 »

I honestly can't believe that there's nothing this community can do for unreleased songs.
Especially really popular ones. I know buying the albums on iTunes does help WWE see that there's interest in the music still, but I know, for example that "Gangsta Lane" is most likely never going to come out, unless it's re-used by someone else.

I would love some type of response back from WWE/Johnston on this matter.
I want to believe if there's enough people out there that show interest in this song, while being professional about it, that maybe one day we'll get our wish.

I plan on actually mailing them a letter, as I've had no luck emailing them about theme songs in the past.

There's mailing address is:

WWE Corporate Headquarters
Attention: (please include Department)
1241 East Main Street
Stamford, CT 06902

I hope to see more people follow suit, because it might just be us to show WWE that this song is in high demand.

Any ideas, guys?

Not sure if that's what's "best for business". though it would be common sense... My idea would be to convince them of the obvious, that the themes folks like us would want would be worth a lot of money...via MANY 99c purchases.

I think this has been talked about over and over already. Of course there are themes we'd like to have, but I believe first and foremost, it is a wrestling business. It's not their job to be distributing any music they have, nor are they required to really do so regardless of fan demand.
In my opinion any releases that we've ever had, have been good releases. I'm grateful to anything we've had in the past, and grateful for anything we get in the future.

That's very true, pete. These past 3 years or so, we theme collectors have been spoiled!
I'll still feel better when I send the letter into them, see if I get a response of any kind.

Some people on the forum have Johnston's email. We could find a way to show our interest in more music releases.

WWE almost release a new DVD each week.... to release a new album each 2-3 months on iTunes for them would not be a big deal.

In the past I often wondered why, with the resource of iTunes available and 100's of unreleased themes just sitting there, WWE doesn't just throw them up on iTunes and try to make a buck off them. They've finally wised up over the last few years and spoiled us themers by putting just about everything new up for sale, along with a few older themes (I thought pigs would fly before we got an official release of Never Thought My Life Would Be This Good). It just seems it would be minimal effort on WWE's part to make all this great stuff available.

TheBib62, in your letter I wonder if bringing up the success of Jimmy Hart's recently released WWF/WCW albums could help WWE take notice that there is a market for this music and releasing older themes could be a profitable venture.

I'm still waiting for my official release of Undertaker's Grim Reaper, dammit :D

I've e-mailed Johnston on multiple occasions and have gotten replies back from him.

He is well aware the demand is there, whether WWE wants to take action on it or not, who knows.

I wouldn't bother asking for femez. I would rather ask where the fuck is Jim Johnston and why is WWE letting CFO$ do shitty loops and music?

Loops are faster, they probably don't have the time to make longer songs right now, they compose new music like every week. I guess WWE should just slow down and give them time to produce full lenghts songs for once.

What CFO$ is doing for the most part is almost like a fast-food approach to entrance themes; cheap, easy and quick. Quantity over quality.

Dear WWE:

I am writing you concerning the theme music that WWE has used in the past. I’ve personally noticed quite a few entrance themes that have never been released, even after WWE has started to release their new and old entrance music on iTunes. To be more specific, one entrance theme that has gained a lot of attention ever since it was first used in 2005, has been Eddie Guerrero’s last theme he used as a bad guy, which has been unofficially given the title “Gangsta Lane”. WWE does not have to look too far to find how much the WWE universe wants to have that entrance theme to have an official release on iTunes. Any type of social media website that discusses that entrance theme will have many fans asking, and sometimes begging for its release. I believe the worst part of this is not knowing why it’s been so long so far, and no release or official word on the reason for it not becoming available.

There are many other entrance themes that WWE fans would like to see released, that aren’t available at this time. I would love to see, as a WWE fan, these entrance themes to be available one day for purchase. I’d also like to mention the success of Jimmy Hart’s WWF/WCW album release that recently became available on iTunes, and has done very well. Furthermore proving, that there is a definite interest in the older, unreleased entrance themes.

I would like any word on this matter, and if there are any plans on releasing Eddie Guerrero’s entrance theme, and other unreleased entrance tracks. As a huge fan of the music of WWE, and the in-house composer, Jim Johnston, I don’t know what else to do in terms of finding out information on this matter.

I’m hoping to hear from someone that can help.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter of concern.

Sincerely,

Not too sure this letter will do much, but I don't believe there should be any specific mentions of anything that is currently unreleased, but bringing up successes of previous albums is encouraged. Decent letter on the whole.

Great letter. But waay to much Gangsta Lean theme mention and not the overall unreleased themes, they could be thinking "just another guy who just wants Eddie's last theme whatever that was".

But awesome thing you're trying man!

The older unreleased themes I'd would LOVE to see released.

Great letter, but yeah, do not mention any specific themes in it. Just talk about unreleased themes in general and/or alternate mix of older material.

And I don't know if Jimmy Hart's album were a success as we do not know how many people bought them. But it's alright to talk about it in your letter.

The unreleased themes that I'd like to have:
- Chris Jericho's Millenium theme
- Owen Hart's Nation of Domination
- Undertaker's very first one
- Brawl for All's arena version
