Re: Xylot Themes About to Go Down
I know I don't post much here but it is a shame to see this site change. But by looking at everyones suggestions, in the future the site could be way better. I remember when I found this site years ago, about 2006-7 I believe and thought it was the bets theme community out there. The other sites I used were Antdogs and dlo my hero.

Re: Xylot Themes About to Go Down
XT has always come back better than ever and this is no different.
I'm currently a referee in professional wrestling and have been for a number of years and in my opinion, I liked the idea of all the themes on the site, especially since at the live events that I participate in, sometimes the featured talent doesn't bring their music or maybe like a specific theme song and I think keeping the themes on the site to forum members should continue,
There were a few minor tweaks that could've been made to the site before, but I know that XT can continue it's reputation as the greatest theme site & forum...EVER.

Re: Xylot Themes About to Go Down
I would like some input from the community, especially regarding production library info... what kind of information needs to be tracked for production tracks? I am thinking that a field such as "album title" or "artist name" can easily apply to production tracks, in which case they would be "album title" and "composer", but stored in the same location in the database. But what other production info should be stored?
Also, does anybody have any feature requests for the site in general? Version 7 will be a complete re-vamp of the entire site, with brand new code, layout, and database structure, so consider this your time to ask for anything you think the site should have, do, feature, or otherwise contain as a feature.
GO!

We NEED a system that lets us know when any data has been added to an entry. If I change Guy X's xth theme title/date/etc. how will the users know? and so on.

Also if there's no music stored on the site, will the site have open registration again? If you think its a good idea of course.

Re: Xylot Themes About to Go Down
Maybe have a section on the main page where we know if the theme is released... in full? Like notifications and then we can go to the forums, because most of us don't check the forums on a daily basis, we usually check the main page to see if anything new is posted.
Thats what I do, and I think a few others said the same.
Hope that made sense lol.

This is a good idea, also if a entrant is edited maybe in another section like a +/advanced area.Jackson wrote:We NEED a system that lets us know when any data has been added to an entry. If I change Guy X's xth theme title/date/etc. how will the users know? and so on.
As with production I'd say: Title, Album, Album Code, Library, Composer. I can't really see anything else needing to be added.

Re: Xylot Themes About to Go Down
I think that there should be a notification as to when a song's title changes. Many times, an official song title changes with no notice, so it would be cool if a particular theme song or listing is updated. A few things here and there are cosmetic.
Maybe it could be possible to download a entire theme listing at one time, instead of individually which takes longer. I do hope that the theme songs return in full to the site; I think everyone wants that to happen.

I could setup a FTP server from my home server for you and have all the mp3's ready to download at anytime. I could make a backup of the mp3's on my external hdd for you.

Re: Xylot Themes About to Go Down
Of course we will have to stop anything relating to themes outside of info being posted in the shoutbox if we did do that or we may get WWE/TNA & ROH knocking on our door because they will read the shoutbox and know we have themes hosted online in a secret section so they will make a lot of posts so they can view the secrets and bust us in the most extreme cases like the Non-Stop Music production branded themes did in the past when the site was open and everybody was able to view the downloads on the site area.Jackson wrote:Also if there's no music stored on the site, will the site have open registration again? If you think its a good idea of course.
If they see us shoutbox bragging about the themes posted on the forum secret themes section Non-Stop and WWE will see that and make a load of posts just to bust us.
Open registrations could work though if we are clever about it and we bar talking about the hosted on the forum themes in the site shoutbox but instead post only info updates and random off topic chat only in there so that wrestling and production music brands don't know about the secret themes section on the forum and bust us again.
Thats the only issue I have with opening registrations again can we trust people not to stupidly post hidden theme forum related theme upload chat in the shoutbox knowing very well we are going open reg again as obviously everyone can see the site again like they did on the original Xylot version Non-Stop busted?
Thats probably my smartist thinking post on Xylot ever but those are my real thoughts too we want to make it so it doesn't backfire on our arse so to do that we need to bar forum related themes discussion in the site shoutbox now if this new setup is going to work being as the themes is now going to be hidden and the site is going to be open again.

Invitations to the "secret" forums won't be based solely on post count. We'll have to work out some sort of personal invitation system, or request system where we will have to "vet" users who want in on the contributions/links.

We're baaa-aaaaack!
Admins can now upload themes again. I tested the functionality on 1-2-3 Kid's WWF themes, and his first one is playable and downloadable.

Re: Xylot Themes BACK IN BUSINESS!!!
This is gonna take so long to get everything back. Probably years, if ever.
Also, to the admins, please don't upload any low quality themes that we have in higher quality this time around, like a 128k CD rip.

Wow, that's awesome news. If anything is missing I'm sure we'll all be more than happy to help a bit get stuff together.
