Jimmy Hart WCW CD
Really?
Jimmy Hart from twitter - We are working now with RET Music - Ted Turner's company to release an album with all 108 songs such as Nitro girl themes. Turner music owns WCW music material and we think a wrestling album could be released featuring the theme songs.

That would be totally awesome. You KNOW what theme I'll be looking out for. Sting's from 1997.Mr. Awesome wrote:Really?

With all 108 songs? Does this mean it could contain all of Jimmy Hart's musical compositions with old themes like Avalanche ?

Re: Jimmy Hart WCW CD
The RET Music thing for Jimmy Hart is very old information. I knew about it way before it was officially typed because that brand of RET/Turner Satellite Music had always been associated with Jimmy Hart's WCW themes on ASCAP/BMI and all of those.
However there has never been an announcement of them making a themes CD out of all their copyrights until this info came along.
If it's like a proper Anthology I will definitely buy it off of ITunes or a Hard Copy as everything released so far was either joke CDs which some tracks did end up being used like Slam Jam or Bootleg CD's like Christmas Brawl Germany "sold at a stand but is it really official as it wasn't in shops?", NWO & Nitro Japan "from this Japanese site that also sold 2 production music bootlegs which makes them bootlegs as well" with NWO having crowd and Nitro being a clean tracks bootleg and of course the Craig bootleg CD as I like to call it as he obtained it "which were all clean tracks but some of them didn't have official name titles as it was a booty".
The only true official one Mayhem was really crap because all the tracks were shortened and I feel that WCW deserves a much better official non bootleg release over this and Slam Jam especially now that it's about 12 years after the death.

Re: Jimmy Hart WCW CD
First off, I don't see this on his Facebook page. Also this rings false for a few reasons...Mr. Awesome wrote:Really?

1. They would have to work with WWE and RET Music/Title Match Music/Satellite Music as WWE owns the rights to all Jimmy Hart music but have to pay him a fee to use them. Unless something else has been arranged?
2. Hart has made over 150 WCW themes of which only 1 is a Nitro Girls track, so "all 108 such as Nitro girl themes" don't ring true.
Slam Jam was not a bootleg, it was a CD only available at live shows or mail order. It was also advertised by WCW often during that period, including a promo advertising 2 Cold Scorpio's being on the album, but never actually made it.TEOL wrote:If it's like a proper Anthology I will definitely buy it off of ITunes or a Hard Copy as everything released so far was either joke CDs which some tracks did end up being used like Slam Jam or Bootleg CD's like Christmas Brawl Germany "sold at a stand but is it really official as it wasn't in shops?", NWO & Nitro Japan "from this Japanese site that also sold 2 production music bootlegs which makes them bootlegs as well" with NWO having crowd and Nitro being a clean tracks bootleg and of course the Craig bootleg CD as I like to call it as he obtained it "which were all clean tracks but some of them didn't have official name titles as it was a booty".
WCW Christmas Brawl was also not a bootleg. This was made for the WCW Christmas Brawl Tour 96 and was available at live events. It was also available via mail order in Germany.
nWo ~ new world order ~ was again another official release in Japan, the nWo was huge in Japan with many japanese stars unofficially joining the group, so they took advantage of its popularity there by releasing this CD.
WCW Mayhem was the only major worldwide CD that WCW did do, but that does not make the others bootlegs.
Black Symphony / nWo Japan ~ AristTrist ~ is associated with NJPW rather than WCW and again not a bootleg CD.
The CD's I got are not bootlegs either, they are original discs from the studio. As they wasn't made for release, they was not titled professionally or designed in a way to look fancy.
Even I wish this release was true, but I highly doubt it.

WWE are stupid with their dubbing, they dub over music that Johnston has made. They have dubbed over a Jimmy Hart track with another Jimmy Hart track. They have also dubbed over a production track with another not only from the same library, but from the same CD!Media-Man wrote:if they own the rights, then why they keep dubbing alot of WCW themes?? guess there were some IP's left off the deal.Grumpy wrote:Hmm be interesting to see if this does work out as I'm sure WWE own the rights when they bought WCW

Re: Jimmy Hart WCW CD
I like Mayhem, even if the theme tracks were generally about a minute long. It's a pretty solid album.
The idea of 108 tracks on a single album (whether on CD or as a download) has probably never been done before for a wrestling album apart from the Anthology stuff, so maybe they're thinking of an Anthology of WCW.

Re: Jimmy Hart WCW CD
I hope the tracks are not shortened that would be crap although it's probably the logical fate due to WWE Anthology being like that other than Disk 3 with the full tracks.
