Jim Johnston's "Dragon" for Steamboat & Ultimo Dragon
All right, this song has been bothering me for a long time, now with the rip of the second version, I'm even more confused.
What is known exactly about this song? Do we know when it was first used & what year? Did Steamboat use it in the final days of his glory days in WWE---or was it first heard in 2003ish when Ultimo Dragon had a horrible stint in WWE? And THEN it was used for "The Dragon" himself?
And also, with this second version of "Dragon" that's now listed on Ricky Steamboat's page, . . . I mean, I'm just not sure that's the version he actually came out with & wrestled with the week on WrestleMania 5 & all. Maybe that version was made JUST for the DVD and should be in the "Miscellaneous" section instead of the entrance theme one?
I don't know. Any light that you guys can shed on this would be appreciated. Lack of information on this has been pissing me off for years. -lol-
O & also: That Power Ranger sound effect in the info, double tea eff?

Steamboat used it on Raw a bunch of times a couple years back when he was getting his ass kicked by Chris Jericho every week.. and also at Backlash 2009, again getting his ass kicked by Chris Jericho.

Ricky Steamboat first used it in 2008 the night after WrestleMania, when he came out for Ric Flair's retirement ceremony on RAW. Then, he's used it since, both in 2009 for his feud with Chris Jericho, and last year, when he came out on RAW and was beaten down by Nexus.

-lol- Yeah, Jericho is awesome---though he'll never answer me on Twitter on if he's more of a New York Rangers' or Winnipeg Jets' fan, but that's neither here nor there.
So you're saying Steamboat STARTED using that entrance theme only recently then? So I guess that means it was first used for Último Dragón in 2003---okay that's kind of what I wanted to know.
I still don't think the second version was ever used for Steamboat other than on his DVD. Maybe that should be corrected & the first version should be the one listed on his entrance theme page.
Whatever works though. Thanks.

The 2nd version has an added flute. Which is the version he was using during his feud with Jericho.ALmighty6693 wrote:-lol- Yeah, Jericho is awesome---though he'll never answer me on Twitter on if he's more of a New York Rangers' or Winnipeg Jets' fan, but that's neither here nor there.

Maybe Ricky used BOTH version 1 & 2 then? The second version sounds more simplistic & cleaner. He might have used it, but I'm almost positive he used "Dragon" {Version 1} too.

V1 should be in his count. He didn't start using V2 until after awhile of using the first one. That's weird that someone did that to his count.

It was on there, but someone suggested to move it. Anyone got any recordings?

i don't think he ever did use V1.. i think they took version one, and just re-worked it specifically for Steamboat.
i'm sure he returned using the second version

Ricky Steamboat always used the Flute Version, just that some people where to dumb to notice it when he first used it in 2008 and all people started claiming he used the Ultimo Dragon one.

Dumb? Yep, because you know EVERYTHING the second you hear it. Don't be so judgemental on those who don't hold the same knowledge you SUPPOSEDLY do.PaddyDragon23 wrote:Ricky Steamboat always used the Flute Version, just that some people where to dumb to notice it when he first used it in 2008 and all people started claiming he used the Ultimo Dragon one.
