Technically, one can use the information tags in MP3 files to create some sort of buffer overflow that could execute some malicious code - or so I heard. In my years of collecting music, I've never run into an infected music file. If you download some music file from here that turns out to be an EXE file and you run it, then you may shit your pants. But to be honest, I doubt anything here would be infected. We're such a small community and so tightly knit that virus attempts would be SO not worth it. So yeah, no need to be worried. Just keep your common sense on - best anti-virus ever.

mp3 files rarely contain viruses, they are more common in rar/zip files people put full albums in. Sometimes you can get media files that ask you to download a codec, if so it's probably fake and might be trying to get you to download a virus.

No. There are no viruses in the MP3s from the main site. Trust me on that. 80% of them were uploaded by myself, and the others are uploaded by trusted admins that I or other trusted admins have picked to help out.
