Question About Dusty's Theme

I was watching the Macho Madness DVD and was wondering why was Dusty Rhodes' theme, Common Man, dubbed? It's not like they don't own the rights to it, as he used it on Raw Monday. I thought that it was very weird that happened. Thanks.

I believe Dusty's theme is owned by Jimmy Hart has he was the original composer. I believe someone else (peter?) told me he owns the original track. As the one WWE uses is a old low quality cassette recording. I guess WWE didn't want to pay Hart royalties from the DVD sales.

That would be Craig who told you. He has all the info on that kind of thing. ;)
I was going to say, the quality sounded shit when I heard it on Raw.

You're sort of on the right tracks there. WWE does own the track (and all themes done by Jimmy Hart) but they have to pay him royalties on usage.
