WCW Music (Hart, Production & WWE)

As I said in the shoutbox heres the information on WWE & Hart music as well as production.

I shall start off by saying WWE does own the rights to all of Jimmy Hart's WWF & WCW work, but they still have to pay him royalties to use the music. He says that they still do pay him royalties for using Shawn Michaels and that he loves that they still use it.
WWE paid next to nothing for his WWFE work as he was under contract with them so the agreement was that he gets royalties rather than a full-out payment for the music.
Pic attached is of my personal collection and first time Ive posted.

WCW on the other hand not only had him under contract as a performer, they also paid him $5,000 for each track he made along with a good % on profits on music sold, but WCW rarely put out any of his music so therefore he lost out abit on that, he did really push for them to release more but they didn't. He says he thinks they gave him Saturday Night show to run just to shut him up.

When WWE bought WCW, it included the rights to all the music (by Hart and other composers like Hallman and Seitz), but if they was to release any of Harts WCW music they would have to give him a % of the profit as thats what his WCW contract stated and remains.

Hope that clears it up abit more with Hart, any questions feel free to ask... now with production music.

WCW was notorious and actually got into legal trouble for not licensing or doing the paperwork for the music they used, they never kept a good record of who used what and when, this could be the reason why WWE dub over the music. Also the fact that even though WWE has the access to most of the production librarys that WCW used it doesnt mean they may like the music WCW chose (as stupid as that may sound), but WWE can be weird like that... they've dubbed over Johnstons own work in the past. They (WWE) do not have access to Spain Is Music or MCT both of which was used by WCW, they are the only 2 that Im aware of at the moment.

I think I have covered nearly everything but any questions just ask.

Unfortunately I wouldnt know why WWE is selective on its dubbing with them, as each tracks has the same chance of each other of being used, the cost for WWE is the same for each and they own the exclusive rights to use all of them.
