In my quest to come up with the best design for Xylot Themes V7, I have been operating under the assumption that the new site would have a dark background with light text and elements (buttons, etc.) over it.

But now I'm starting to question that, especially since a large majority of designs, templates, widgets, and so forth are dark-on-light (dark text and elements over a light/white background).

Richard, Would it be possible to have both options on the site?

Yes, eventually, Eddie. However, when designing the site, planning the layout, etc. it's best to have just one color scheme to work with initially.

I'm leaning toward dark background, too, but I wanted to make sure people didn't prefer a light background. So far, light background is winning though...

I prefer the second option (light-on-dark).
