You may know that I have a way of obsessing over 100% accuracy in my iTunes library—and the closing credits song from WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role has annoyed the hell out of me since forever was invented. It actually came to the point where I emailed Vince Frates over it. (Shut up.) Here's the message trail between us thus far. If you have any advice on where to go from here to track down more info, feel free to let me know. -ha-

Thanks!

Hi AL,

Glad you like Triumphant Reunion. It was written for a film trailer… If I recall correctly the movie was called “Operation Dumbo Drops”. Back in the mid 90’s I believe. Since then it resides as a library piece in the Nonstop Music Library, a division or Warner Chappelle. I’m not sure about the video game you mentioned. It’s possible that was a knock off too. The piece was recorded with a good size orchestra.

very best regards,

Vince Frates

Hello Mr. Frates,

I'm a huge fan of "Triumphant Reunion" & think it's an awesome creation of yours! I noticed a certain underscore of it was used in the THQ video game 'WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role' [played in the end credits]. I'm assuming it was derived from you Non-Stop production library original. I was wondering if it was also a production of yours or if it was some kind of ripoff.

If so, I'm wondering if you can tell me more about it. I'm blown away by how awesome it is. When did you make this version of this? Also, out of curiosity—which nationality do you identify as? I suppose your nationality determines the nationality of the song. Was this from an album or just some free agent that popped onto the video game? It's so awesome & I'd love to find out more.

If not, ha, is it too late to sue THQ? -ha-

Thanks!

Respectfully,
Al
