Hey guys, I was watching OVW, and I noticed a lot of the talent has new themes. So I messaged a few and inquired about them. Here is the message I got from Adam Revolver:
Me: Hi Adam,
What is your current entrance music in OVW?
And his reply:
We have non commercial music now to be compliant with copyright law. Prior to that, my song was "Slaves and Bulldozers" by Soundgarden.

Ah, shit. No more mainstream themes in OVW? They're on local TV and online, they don't have to worry about copyright laws.

When you think about it, it seems kinda backwards that small time promotions often use famous songs, and big promotions mainly use production themes.
I mean I get that the small time promotions often aren't doing it legally and properly, but just from a ignorant fan perspective you'd think the big promotions would have the more famous tracks and the small promotions would have the less famous ones.

Small promotions aren't nationally televised, so they don't have to worry about copyright laws. OVW for example, only airs in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio... as well as online. They've used mainstream themes since they started in the 90's. One of our members (Rage0213) actually used to be their music guy. It sucks ass that they're using custom stuff now, because we'll likely never get any info on them or get the actual songs. Unless they're using production tracks, in which case, we have VERY few members who are interested in OVW, therefore we have very few members willing to search for production tracks from OVW.

I just dream of the day a fan-friendly wrestling company comes along, where ALL themes are available to purchase and ALL theme information and counts are officially and thoroughly maintained.
Was hoping Global Force might break the mold as Jarrett kept going on about how they would be different and engage with the fans, but now it's here it seems they were all talk and just work exactly the same as every other promotion...
