RIP XylotTheme.com

Discussion regarding the site itself. This includes the upcoming Version 7. Also comments about the site, suggestions for V7, questions about XT, problems with your life, and errors — ooh I hates those errors!

Good to see that you didn't give up, Rich (or XT or TR or XT Admin or whatever you actually want to be called). Xylotthemes, the Undertaker of the theming world. Keeps getting killed, but gets revived somehow.

This is a good day for me. Anyway, it seems the people at TPWW have started to notice the site went down.

"So Xylot Themes closed down for the 10 millionth time right as a game with custom themes comes out. Great."

Well, looks like Xylotthemes is still alive, but not kicking yet. But then again, good things need their time.

They're not exactly idiots. They're doing their job, finding people who illegally make their music available for download.

I wonder what kind of fine XT has received.

Wahey. its still here!

I couldn't get onto the forums for a while for some reason :(

Anyway, XT, you said:

"As a final note, I will soon be offering a titantrons DVD (that you can view in your DVD player and watch on TV) will full-length themes as a reward for donating a certain amount of money or more."

I'm intrigued. Can't wait to see how that pans out. Sounds good.

Also can't wait for the whole site to get back up and running properly. Its an amazing site and I actually miss shouting into your box ;)

But yeah... Hopefully all works out well. ShutUpload sounds promising (will google them in a minute to check them out).

I still have a ton of titantron videos uploaded to mediafire (Posted on WWE-Europe and my Loose Database site) if they'd be of any use to you? Not all amazing quality, but good for the most part.

got back up? it never went down to get back up, plus anything AD related is meant to be in the XT vs AD thread

Yeah but you're still wrong. AD never went down... so why try to talk about something you know nothing of?

And saying "OFF TOPIC" doesn't make it right. Keep ALL XT/AD discussion in that thread, nowhere else.

XylotThemes wrote:I may bring back the main site and have it so that you must be logged into the forums to gain access. Otherwise, you'll still see the "down for good" message that's up right now.

I will never require money for usage of this site. I did that once before (around 2006/2007) and while it was very successful and I made some money off of it, it was largely abused and mostly people hated it.

I have always offered people the option of donating, if they wanted. If they don't, no big deal. I work from home doing web design and make pretty good money off of it, so I have no financial need of requiring donations to gain access to this site.

I've locked registration much like AntDogs does, but I've decided to keep whoever registered on board. If they registered a day before I locked registration, so be it, they're in.

I understand my mass email about the new URL has leaked out to people I'd rather not have see it. I can't help that, but I'm going to have to keep a close eye on activity for the time being.

Thank you for the kind words, everybody, as well as the suggestions. I do not expect anybody to help out with any fees I incur from Non-Stop Music, as that was my own foolish mistake, and my own doing. If you really, really want to help out, that's your prerogative, but please remember that I don't expect anything, nor am I asking for anything. It's my own fault.

I will definitely bring back the themes... they were deleted from the xylot.net server, which is fine and dandy. I've been working on an upload site (like MediaFire or RapidShare) and plan on using that to host the themes. Since it's an upload site, I'm sure the worst that could happen is that I will be asked for search for copyrighted material and delete it. It's an upload site after all; anybody could have uploaded the material. This new site will be called ShutUpload and will work much like MediaFire does now; free to upload and download, no waiting periods, and with the option of having a premium account. If you want to contribute something to the site and get something out of it, you can get a premium account with ShutUpload (really cheap) when it is finished.

Either way, ShutUpload will be the new hosting location for the themes. It will take some time for the upload script to be finished, as well as a week or so for uploading nearly 5 GB of themes.

As a final note, I will soon be offering a titantrons DVD (that you can view in your DVD player and watch on TV) will full-length themes as a reward for donating a certain amount of money or more.
Will Xylot members get premium for free or a one off only charge on this ShutUpload?

We would like some type of deal as members on preimium ie. not paying £30 or $15 every month for the premium service and FTP access since we prefer that, well I do anyway.

We also need a Shoutbox on the forum since theres no site anymore, that would mean that the rant thread of AD V. XT could die due to a Shoutbox being for that crap and on the forum too, since afterall the thread was made for the reason of them messing up the forum, if there is a shoutbox, you don't need a thread any longer.

May I suggest one which you can view pages aka classic messages on there too, stupid UK/US time zone differences?

Everybody on here will have a 1GB limit instead of the normal 100MB limit, as a gift to all of you. Premium accounts would only be something like $5-$10 per month, nothing big. Just let me know who you are on ShutUPload.com (if you're under a different name or I don't really know who you are) and I will up your limit.

Man, I'm so confused.

So what's happening?

Do we join shutupload? Do we need an account with them?

I'm sorry, guys. The plans keep changing. I'll make a news announcement when things are finalized. I'm transferring the xylot.net domain to the same web host as ShutUPload.com is on. So the links will be the same... I just need to re-upload all the themes all over again.

If you want to upload themes to contribute, or for any other uploads (instead of MediaFire and RapidShare), use ShutUPload.com. I will soon be adding a feature where you can play music and view video in the browser without having to download the file.
