History of theme releasing

Post by Nafip »

Hey there! I'm currently sorting my theme collection (basically just the album information) and I was wondering how certain themes were released.

I'm talking about WWE made themes, for example Fatu's "Clean It Up" theme (I know it's not the official title) or Rick Martel's "Model" theme etc. Now I couldn't find a lot about those "MLG tapes" and "Zube tapes" online so I would like to know the history about them (if there is one).
Is there something like a track listing from those tapes?

The same thing can be asked about WCW themes like the full versions of "Scott Steiner Theme", "Sid Vicious Theme", "Animal Theme", "Lance Storm Theme" ("Cross the Line") etc. or a lot of TNA themes. How were those themes released?

I'm sorry about the crappy subject title and if the question is too broad.

When I'm next on the PC, I'll be able to answer most if not all. Or if you come on MSN sometime I'll be able to answer each theme specifically.

Here's a basic history of them, feel free to ask anymore questions.
The MLG tapes came from Maple Leaf Garden's arena (hence MLG) as WWF use to go there quite often so they left tapes there for ease and obviously forgot about them overtime. They was sold on ebay (as you can see here), to someone known as "marc". He then sold them onto KMVegas (KNorth) and Godzfire (with help from other peoples money). Later sold to DeadmanMinistry which they remain.
The TU series (Themers United... aka KMVegas, Godzfire and others) again came from an ebay auction (of which I didn't save) sold directly to KMVegas/Godzfire, later sold to DeadmanMinistry which again they remain. As far as I know there isn't any other previous history on these.
The Zube set originally was the MSB set, so I shall start there.
I shall leave it up to MSB for if he wishes to give any background on these, or Michael if you wish for me to just PM me. Anyway MSB obtained the tapes which he sold most (not all) to Sean Godfrey (Zube), who recording most and got Godzfire to edit them (badly) and posted them in short with lots of teasing on his Zube.us forum. He then sold them onto KMVegas/Godzfire who again sold them onto DeadmanMinistry which they still remain.

I see you ask for tracklisting, well every arena tape had 1 theme on each. Most of them are 10minute plus tapes.
The HTM 1st theme among a couple of others came from 1 tape from a previous employer, this tape contained about 12 tracks (I can't remember off by heart), most of them we already had.

TNA Themes, we managed to find where they kept the files on a server (www.tnab2b.com - which is now gone) which we got many tracks from. The other way we got tracks is from their old music player on their site. I don't know much else as I didn't have much interest in them.

As for the WCW's originally an old friend (Daz316x) obtained 2 DAT tapes and a cassette of 3 themes (Ricky Steamboat, nWo w/ quotes and Mortis) from Jimmy Hart. Now we know that Ricky Steamboat is production, nWo is production but with their official quotes and Mortis is by Non-Stop Music custom.
Also we knew a guy in Japan who got some tapes from a referee at AJPW of whom was friends with someone from THQ. He had some NJPW arena tapes, WCW's (most of which turned out to be production except Kurasawa/Meng - that's how we got that tape quality) and some WWE (like Stephanie McMahon piano and others I can't recall right now). I traded some things with this japanese guy to get some of these as did a few others.

As for the other's, I obtained quite a few CD's and DAT's of various Jimmy Hart music which included WCW. I shared them all with a couple of friends, which they traded some for other shite (stupidly) and that's how about 30+ got out.

Hope that helps, any questions feel free to ask.

Thank you for your time and for the "history lesson". :D

I thought these themes were released like the "Superstars Theme Tapes" from the early 90s with multiple tracks on one tape and not one by one. I also thought that these tapes were sold from the Maple Leaf Garden's arena. It's great to get corrected on this.
When were these tapes released? My guess would be the mid 1990s.

I have a list of 47 WCW themes and probably 4 times as many WWE themes that I don't know the album/tape of (or how they were released in general). I'm not sure if I should post it here since it's pretty big.

Feel free to PM me with as much detail to the themes as you know and I will gladly tell you how we got them etc.
We got the MLG around 2003, the TU about 2004/5. The Zube which originally was MSB was 90's. The WCW tapes was 2003 (approx), the WCW CD's was at the earliest 2009. The TNA we got about 2008 iirc.

Craig, do you know if DeadmanMinistry has done a new set of recordings of the tapes on his better cassette decks yet and if the ones we got in appalling quality like Southern Justice sound slightly better quality although I'm not expecting any miracles from these tapes even if his decks are top of the range and way better than the ones that Knorth and GodzFire used for their recordings of them.

Deadmans tape recordings of stuff like Piledriver ect. have always been the best to me and you could go no wrong with them in my opinion thats why I'm asking if he did any of these sets yet on his good decks as I've been anticipating his version of the releases for ages now.

I don't think I'd get them anyway as his not on these forums for some reason so I don't know why I'm asking but I just am because he does the best tape recordings as maybe one of his mates that are on these forums is bound to have his versions to release one day maybe even Christmas on here with his permission of course if he did make his own set?

Not speculating at all that his friends may have his recordings or not it's just my logical thinking that they might have something although I'm forcing nothing as thats not the way I do things anymore as I've gone past doing all that forcing things now as I'm too old for wanting themes like a kid anymore and just happy for what I get now and I don't care if I get nothing as I'm happy with Kyles although would be nice to have a different version from Deadman its not the end of the world if we don't get his version.

Oh well. I get backstabbed all the time most times they come around eventually and say they did the wrong thing though unless they are true haters.

Lets hopes he's one of those good guys that will give you your stuff back and apologizes afterwards.
