Theme title corrections thread

Post by Metalitia »

...because there are still songs on the XT downloads that have not yet been re-titled even after the title has come to light.

like "Cop Killer", the theme for "WrestleMania XX: Angle/Guerrero Build-up (WWE)" in the Promos section. I was wracking my brain for over 4 years before somebody told me the title.

I'm sure others here have song titles that have not yet made it to the files on the site.

I just went through the VGM section (kudos to the team for getting that up) and I keep seeing "Sprach Zarathustra". But shouldn't it be "Also Sprach Zarathustra"?

There are 3 main titles for this track, "Also Sprach Zarathustra", "Also Sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30" and "Thus Spake Zarathustra".
I don't have the video game on me to check what its credited as in there, but it could be credited as "Sprach Zarathustra".
This is one for someone to check out who has the chance to (as Im away from home for over 2 weeks)

For what it's worth, I got the title from here: http://www.androyd.com/media/ar_smackdowncd.html

And here (scroll down to song credits): http://www.mobygames.com/game/ps2/wwe-s ... th/credits

But it's apples and oranges you know. ;)

A-Train 2nd is called "Derailed" (according to Johnston's BMI).

Super Crazy's theme I think should be called "Gringo" as it's noted in Johnston's BMI because the song wasn't written for just Super Crazy as the "Muy Loco" title would infer.

The version of "Break Down The Walls" that Jericho used in 2004 was once noted on the BMI as "Break The Walls Down 2004".

The Acolytes/APA is called "Protection".

Greg Valentine's theme is called "The Hammerman Theme", as noted by Jimmy Hart.

Viscera's "Visceral Groove" should just be noted with the title "Viscera's Theme".

Tekno Team 2000's should just be noted with the title "Tekno Team Theme".

Molly Holly's last theme should just be noted with the title "Molly Holly Theme".

Rodney Mack's "Mack Attack" should just be "MacMilitant" as it's simply an early version of the song, maybe make note of that in parenthesis.

Dan Rodimer's 1st theme is called "Virus".

The Taboo Tuesday 2004 theme is called "I Want My News Now".

I believe PPVs like Extreme Rules and One Night Stand should be listed separately, as well as Taboo Tuesday and Cyber Sunday, however I agree on the combining of "The Bash" and "The Great American Bash" as it's not a complete re-branding of the event.

The theme you have up for Rad Raford is a fake theme that's been going around since the AOL days which is from an old Pinball game. Rad Radford never made a televised entrance.

Hulk Hogan never used "Ravishing", he only used the remake that was on the Wrestling Album. There was also recording found of Hogan using the video version of "Real American".

These are just personal notes so up to other admins too, but I would not count any of the BMI/SESAC/ASCAP titles as its been proven in the past that Johnstons even lists production tracks as his own. Also think of how many themes Undertaker has had and how many are on Johnstons lists... and whats to prove that the titles up are for the exact versions as used on TV? I know Jimmy Hart has done many songs made for wrestlers (and on his list) and not used on TV.

You're right that its a fake theme (I don't check WWFE section), but I wouldn't count on Rad Radford never to of made a televised entrance.

Let me put it this way... I have not seen any proof myself, its only few people saying "yes he did" but without proof I would personally not count it.

Very true.

In response, most of the Undertaker's theme songs have had the same melody and basic layout, with the exception being his Ministry themes (Vol. 3, FL'98, WM15, etc). I think it's a fair assumption that if Johnston lists "Graveyard Symphony" or "Rest In Peace", it's more than likely going to be a version of the "Graveyard Symphony" song. If Johnston were to list something like "Lionheart", I think it would be fair to say that it's an unused Jericho theme, whether it be composed by him or Jimmy Hart. Another example would be the listed title "Animal", we have no idea who or what that title is referring to. Would it be Batista's original theme? A theme composed for Animal? A BGM piece or a TV show theme? Sometimes if you click on them, it'll have an "other titles" category and will list something like the wrestler it was used for or the TV show, sometimes nothing. When I place a title with a song, it's because there's enough evidence for me to be able to make an association between the title and the given song.

Everyone has their own way of doing things, but just explaining my view.

Yea I see what you're saying (btw Jimmy Hart's is under his own) but no matter what the "titles" there are just random names for the tracks just to be registered. He should of done what Jimmy Hart did and call them like "Four Horsemen Theme", "Kidman Theme", "Boogie Knights Theme" etc
So until these are actually out on CD I personally would stick to them having no titles.

I've only heard proof of him using Hulk Hogan's Theme on the cartoon and not in the ring.
