def rebel [the Artist Formerly Known as DJDTP] Theme Discussion Thread

Post by Leaf »

I posted this on the site but want to see your thoughts on this.

As discovered by Alex, "Gotta Get That" is credited on BMI (Work # 31570666) to Douglas J Davis, Hector Bienvenidos Dominguez Jr, Anthony Mirabella III, Susan Melissa Paroff, James Keith Petrie, Jodie Shihadeh, Nikki Ann Sorrentino and Ali Dee Theodore.

Researching for Douglas Davis comes this name - DJDTP - a music production group founded by Doug, Ali Dee Theodore and Johie Shihadeh. Wikipedia mentions WWE as one of Doug's clients, however it isn't mentioned on the group's website. Anthony Mirabella III and Susan Melissa Paroff are common co-writers according to Universal Music Publishing, and Nikki Ann Sorrentino is a vocalist that goes under the artist name of Nikki Era that also appears in some works by the songwriting team (she does sound like she does the female vocals on "Gotta Get That").

Searching further, Mirabella goes under the artist name of BeIIIa (or Bellla) and has collaborated with Nikki Era. Another interesting fact is James Keith Petrie, which is the COO of DJDTP, and also has worked with Ali Dee Theodore and Susan Paroff as The Deekompressors.

The plot thickens, as StreetProfit mentions Chris Classic as a possible vocalist for "Gotta Get That" - while he has previously worked with Jim Johnston on "619", he mentions a strong connection with "music mogul" (as he puts it) Ali Theodore... this year's WrestleMania theme song was released by Chris Classic and it's credited to Ali Dee Theodore and Anthony Mirabella III... the pieces all fit together.

Here's the sources for the information. Would love to see your own research on the case...

It's real interesting but I have doubts it's them. They might've just been contracted for that one song for MITB.

We'll see what happens, I guess.

Further proof is that we also have confirmation of one of the Muscle Man Dance remixes being done by them, too. The song is titled "Muscle Man Metal" by DJDTP and the BMI Work No. is # 31570675, so this doesn't seem like "Gotta Get That" was a one-time deal.

Here's video proof of the promo in question: https://youtu.be/t_Fz3mDCihw?t=8s

Okay, I change my mind. It's them.

BMI Work # 31570666.

They also have writer credits to Bray's theme.

God, I was praying this was for another Uncaged. Would've been the only thing that could've turned this miserable Christmas around lol

So is this to say that they could be behind all the current stuff that has yet to see a release?

If they ever release any of these newer themes done by this new team, I wonder how they'll be credited.

Do you think "We Got It" could be the "Brock Party" theme? For reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIKWTaIldhg.

This deal is also confirmed on Doug Davis' Linked In profile, where it reads the following:

Doug Davis, Co-Founder
Company Name: DJDTP

"DJDTP is a full service music production company with a diverse staff of award-winning composers, producers, artists and management. Wouldn't doubt on DJDTP, they released a cover of an Aretha Franklin song not long ago on iTunes and Spotify.

I've found 2 more titles "King Corbin" & "Tokyo Shock". STEPHANIE MUSIC PUBLISHING INC is the Publisher, so that appears to be the WWE tracks for anyone who goes through every title under Douglas Davis' BMI. Think you hit paydirt big time, Leaf. This appears to be the break in the case of who's behind the Current Stuff.

Tokyo Shock could be Kushida's. I thought that was one of CFO$' last but maybe not.

Tokyo Shock has to be for either KUSHIDA, IO Shirai or The Kabuki Warriors

I found a listing called "Strike You Down" under the Stephanie Music Publishing...any ideas?

Edit: if you go to the end of the listings, pages 20-21, it will list the TV show cues, i.e. RAW, Smackdown, Afterburn, Experience, Bottom Line, etc

Going from this List;

Infamy - V. likely is Damian Priest's Theme (Based of his "The Archer of Infamy" Nickname)
Great Gates of Kiev - Remake of Jerry Lawler's Theme (I'm guessing)
Still Major - Could be Ryder/Hawkins (based off what they used to be called "The Major Brothers")
King Corbin - I Wonder who that is for!!!

Never Die (Mentioned here is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo6ZJoX8gn0) Which a Remix or an Underscore was done (or used) for The WM35 Intro https://youtu.be/F5XXcrgBwr0?t=99

'Cause all you know is what you see
'Cause you're all blind to who I am
So all you see is a mystery
'Cause I'm PRICELESS!!!"
